Good to know: in the current version of the game, RESET PROGRESS is not a complete deletion of your account and data. It deletes what is on your phone, your Cloud Save data and your game account, but some records stay online (listed under What stays, for now). To have everything deleted, ask us as described under Ask us instead.
Delete it in the game
- Open Twistly and go to the main menu or the level map.
- Tap the settings button (the gear at the top).
- Tap RESET PROGRESS. It turns red and asks SURE? TAP AGAIN.
- Tap it again within three seconds.
Do this while you are online. Without a connection the game resets your phone and tells you: “This phone is reset. The online account isn't deleted yet. Reset again when you're online.” Tap RESET PROGRESS again once you are online to finish.
Before you reset, note your player name from the Friends screen (“Your handle is …”). You will need it if you ask us to remove anything that the reset leaves behind.
Uninstalling the game removes the data on your phone, but it does not delete your online account — reset first, then uninstall.
What is deleted
On your phone, at once: your levels and stars, coins, boosters, your buddy's look, treats, wear and progress, your daily rewards and missions, the friends, leaderboard and rating records the phone keeps, your blocked players and the shop's records.
Online, if you are connected when you reset: your game data in Unity Cloud Save, then your Unity game account itself. The game then creates a new, empty anonymous account so that you can carry on playing. Nothing online is deleted later on its own: if you were offline, reset again once you are online.
What stays, for now
Some of Twistly's online features keep their records in separate Unity services, and in the current version of the game RESET PROGRESS does not clear them. After a reset they belong to an account nobody can sign in to any more, but they still show your old player name and buddy:
- your entry on the 1v1 leaderboard: rating, rank, your buddy's name and look, and country;
- your friend connections, friend requests and blocks;
- your last online status for friends, with your buddy's name and look;
- your public country record and your player name record.
To have these removed, ask us as described below and we will delete them. Some things also stay on your phone until you uninstall the game: sound and vibration, your privacy answer, the name the game first gave your buddy, the records that stop a purchase being paid twice and turn off full-screen ads after you have paid, the codes you have redeemed, unsent race reports (for at most two days), the country the game last published for your old player ID, and the diagnostics log. If you never named your buddy, your new account's player name starts with the same name as the old one.
Ask us instead (no app needed)
If you no longer have the game, or want everything removed for you, e-mail support@twistlygame.com with the subject “Delete my Twistly data” and tell us:
- your player name (for example Pip#4821), as exactly as you can remember it;
- roughly when you last played, and whether you played 1v1 races.
A player name is public, so before deleting anything we may ask for information that lets us reasonably check that you are the holder of the account. We only ask for the minimum we need for the deletion. We then delete your game account and everything linked to it — your Cloud Save data, leaderboard entry, friend connections, online status, country record and player name — and write back to confirm. We answer requests under the GDPR without undue delay, and as a rule within one month of receiving them.
Data held by others
- Purchases: Apple and Google keep their own records of what you bought; see your App Store or Google Play account.
- Ads: Unity's ad services hold data under their own policy (Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab)). On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
- Unity's own service logs may contain your player ID or IP address; Unity keeps them as its privacy policy and data processing terms describe.
- This website keeps nothing about you; its host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver it (see the Privacy Policy).
